Mornings with Andrew

At the end of February, we transitioned Andrew from the bassinet in our room to his crib in his room.  He had definitely out grown his bassinet but it was so great having him right next to my bed for late night feedings.  But, now we can watch him on the video monitor and he has started to sleep longer stretches of time.  He almost always wakes up happy and never crying.  Andrew loves bath time in the morning (despite the look on his face in the picture below).  Leah loves helping wash him and combing his hair when he is done and all wrapped up in his towel. Then, I get him dressed and we are off for the day of taking the girls to and from school and their activities.  Luckily he doesn't mind his car seat and likes going in the car.  He especially likes it when the girls are right next to him in the car.  He misses them while they are at school.

Another Week Update

The girls love when there is a hood or a hat on an outfit. Andrew looked so cute and was so happy about life in his little hood.

Eric set Andrew up in the doorway.

Eric's favorite baby pose!

Our washing machine died so while we were at Lowe's getting a new one the girls had to find entertainment somewhere!

Baja Fish Tacos!

The neighborhood kids out riding bikes on Sunday morning.  They love being out there together and poor Hudson cried when it was time to go inside.  The four youngest kids weren't even out there.  I love what our street is turning in to!  Now we have our fingers crossed that a nice young family moves into the house next door to the Koellikers!
Andrew likes this little baby.  Leah set it next to him in the bumbo seat and he looked so grown up with his arm around it!

Twin Day happened at school. Ava and Shea went with me to Target and picked out these pink shirts and giant bow headbands. Leah and Belle wanted to be twins too! They are cute little BFFs.

We went to Math and Science Night at school.  The girls love doing little experiments at all the stations and especially love the telescopes outside.  We saw Jupiter!  They also love running around with their friends.  While we were in the MPR we saw Ava's picture was up for the Principal's award for Responsibility.  Proud of her!

Andrew was just chillin' with Meredith. He was so comfortable!

Andrew: 3 Months

Andrew turned 3 months old (February 16)! I woke up thinking, why? Why is he already 3 months? I love him as a sweet little baby and I know how fast it will fly by. He had a little cough last week so I took him to the doctor to make sure it wasn't evolving into something more.  He checked out fine, thankfully. He weighed in at 13 lbs 8 oz.  He is continuing strong on his growth curve.  He still wakes up to eat but goes right back to sleep.  He is still in his bassinet but takes up almost the entire length.  We need to start thinking about moving him to the crib but I love having him right there next to me especially since he is not sleeping through the night without eating.  I really love watching him learn to play.  He is grasping onto a few toys and still smiles at every toy that will smile back.  He sits well in his bumbo seat and his core is getting stronger.  He has tummy time but hasn't shown much interest in rolling over.  He sucks on his hands which results in a lot of drool.  Sometimes he gets his thumb in so we will see what comes of that.  He is social.  He smiles at people.  When he is in the stroller he just smiles so much at me.  Sometimes when I am shopping I find myself pulling over so I could just talk to him and smile back.  I love our little interactions.  The girls are in love with him and he loves them back.  Even when he is getting smothered with love from Leah he is still smiling.  He loves the attention.

Valentine's Day

The girls lucked out on Valentine's Day with stuffed animals, jewerly, candy, AND flowers. Eric got us all different flowers. I love having fresh flowers in the house especially in the winter, they are so cheery. We all sat on our bed and took turns opening the Valentines that we made for each other.  Ava started it off with a little card to the whole family.  What she wrote was really sweet.  After seeing all of the Valentines, Eric went off to work.  The girls and I had a quiet day and then picked up Eric for dinner.  We went to Ruby's on the Huntington Beach Pier.  It was a fun walk out over the water and it was perfect timing at sunset and it was a beautiful warm day.  I loved spending the evening with all 4 of my loves!

Leah: Kindergarten Sock Hop

I love the 50's Sock Hop for Valentine's Day in Kindergarten. The kids are SO cute.  I kind of wish they dressed like this every day!  Leah Douglas came over before school so we had to get a picture together.  Sweet Leahs!

The class exchanged secret Valentine's that were picked at random.  Lincoln got Leah and that was so perfect.  Here is Leah trying to give him a hug to say Thank You.

Mrs Keller taught the kids 50s dances.  She was sick and losing her voice but she still gave it her all and was full of energy for the kiddos.  Love her!

They also had root beer floats and cupcakes.  There are only 5 girls in the late bird class and they are so cute together.  Belle-Leah-Annalise-Marlise-Natalia

Kindergarten group shots!

When Leah was asked what "Love is" her response was "caring for your family."

I love being able to spend time with Leah in her classroom and getting to know her Kindergarten friends.
