Baby Monitor

I love seeing this little one in the baby monitor.  The girls love staring at him when he is sleeping and let me know of every movement or noise that he makes during his nap.  Sometimes it looks like Andrew is staring right back at us!

Harrison is 1!

Our cute neighbor, Harrison turned 1 year old. Gina and Brian are always having a party and it's fun to get together with all of the neighbors and their friends.  Ava was happy to have Marcai to play with and Leah was so surprised when Annalise walked in!  We met some cute little babies including another little Andrew!  Happy birthday, Harrison!  Can't wait for you and Andrew to be best buddies!

Sumans in Blue

My three babies in blue! While we were taking Daddy Daughter Dance pictures last night, we decided to snap a couple of the three kids together and then Eric with Andrew. Everyone was wearing blue! I love all of my people!

Daddy Daughter Dance

Tonight was the first annual Daddy Daughter Dance at Robinson Elementary.  The girls could hardly contain themselves as they were getting ready for the big date.  They went in a big group to Tutto Fresco for dinner with other Daddy Daughter friends (Douglas, Brewster, Gillie, and Neilson). Then they headed to the big dance.  It was a Candyland theme.  They got door prizes and even had a chocolate fountain.  They danced the night away and had fun in the photo booth.  Such a fun night for them!  Leah was really tired and I ended up picking her up a half hour early but Ava didn't want it to end.  She has told Eric multiple times how much fun she had with him.  So cute.

Talking Andrew

Here is a little video of Andrew "talking". I love to hear his coos and his natural voice.

Leah: First Tooth

Leah lost her first tooth! She was very brave and wanted me to pull it out. She was so excited to have a visit from the tooth fairy. She called Eric on the phone and announced that she had "breaking news!"  It is pretty exciting! But, it is also kind of sad that the girls already know that we are the tooth fairy. They were a little disappointed in that fact but Ava was onto us and couldn't help but talk it over with Leah. Lucky for them, they have the best tooth fairies and they will still come even though they don't believe.  It's cute to see her smile and how it has changed.  The other bottom middle tooth is already loose so it won't be long until we have a little jack-o-lantern.

Eric is 35!

Today Eric turned 35! Eric wanted to go to The Hat for lunch. He deserves his double chili cheeseburger once a year!

Afterward we ended up playing mini golf at Boomers. He even got a hole in one!

Andrew was there too!  Such a happy baby!

Later in the evening we met everyone for dinner at El Torito Grill in Irvine. We had a delicious meal and enjoyed hanging out.  Cindy brought balloons and he opened a couple of gifts.  Thanks for coming out to celebrate!

When we got home, Eric's gift from us was delivered on the porch. He got a new blender! We all will enjoy this gift!

We celebrated on Sunday night with the fam.  Eric made a chocolate pound cake.

Happy Birthday, Eric! We love you!

Andrew: 2 Months

Andrew is 2 months old today.  I love his sweet little face.  His eyes are lightening up and are such a pretty blue.  His eye lashes are finally growing in too (I was a little worried).  He his tracking with his eyes really well.  He still has all of the hair he was born with and Grandma Ruth called him Woody Woodpecker because he has a nice cowlick in the back and his hair likes to stand up.  He is cooing/talking a lot.  He mimics voices and can hold a pretty good little "conversation".  I love hearing his natural voice.

Andrew likes to kick around on his gym mat.  He smiles at all of the toys with faces and stares deeply at himself in the mirror.  He enjoys sucking on his pacifier but he doesn't have it at night at all.  He may be trying to find his thumb because he likes to suck on his fist.  He sleeps well at night.  He wakes up every 3 hours to eat still but goes right back to sleep without any fussing.  He likes to wiggle his arms out of the swaddle in the early morning.

We visited Dr Conti today for his well check.  He passed all of the tests and is growing really well.  He is 12 lbs 7 oz (50%) and 24" long (96%).  He also has a big head!  He had to get three shots and an oral vaccination.  I think Ava and Leah were more traumatized than he was by getting shots.  They do not like to hear him cry.

If you make eye contact with Andrew, he smiles!  It is so sweet.  He has that all over smile where he kicks his legs and arms too which creates a blurry picture!

Leah wanted to get in on the photo too.  She loves this little boy so much!  She is always kissing and hugging him.  His face sums it up pretty good here.  He is not so sure about all of the love.  Luckily the doctor warned the girls not to kiss him on the face or hands and I think it finally sunk in for Leah.  She wants to keep him germ free.

Andrew made his debut in a Cafe Rio bathroom picture with Eric.  Welcome to the family!

Florida

I am so glad that we were able to make it work so I could head to Florida for Grandma Novak's funeral.  My parents did an amazing job with all of the arrangements for her.  Our last minute Florida trip marked Andrew's first flight!  He is 7 1/2 weeks old and flying across country already!  He was so amazing on the flights and during layovers and security checks, etc.  He was very happy and slept on the plane.  It was a bit of a juggle with all of our stuff but we made it.  The trip was short but completely worth it to be there with my family.

In Florida we mostly just hung out besides the funeral day.  One of the big perks of going to Florida was that my family could meet baby Andrew!  We had dinner out one night.  We talked a lot and my parents and Grandma Ruth got some quality time in with baby Andrew.  It was a great little trip but too short.  We will see everyone again in a few months but this time in CT for the burial.  Thanks for having us!

While I was away Ava and Leah got to go to Gram's house after school on Thursday and Friday.  Thankfully Gram was able to pick them both up and she even took Leah to school on Friday.  I hate having others in charge of their crazy schedule but I am so grateful that she was able to help take care of them so I could be in Florida with my family.  She also had Clara and Anna came over to play too.  They had fun with their cousins!

On Saturday they had a super fun day with Eric.  They went hiking in the morning, to the movies in the afternoon and went to dinner at Ruby's on the Huntington Beach pier.  Such a fun dad!  Leah made an interesting footwear choice for the hike...

On Sunday morning they all worked together and finished the Salt Lake Temple Lego set that Grandma and Papa sent to Ava for her baptism.  They will have so much fun playing with this!
