Ava: Character Matters

Ava's first grade class performed the play, Character Matters, today with Mrs. Terry's first grade class. The kids did so good! There were so many songs with complicated words to memorize. They each had small speaking parts and had to memorize lines. The message was good and Ava did awesome! She spoke clear and loud enough and sang her little heart out the whole time.  I got to see the dress rehearsal yesterday and then the parent's performance this morning.  Gram and Grandpa came and brought Anna too.  It was great to have everyone there.  Thanks for coming!

Celebrating Baby De Prima

Adrian and Ryan are expecting a baby boy, Oliver!  He is due March 10th.  This weekend Rachael, Kam and Karis put on a baby shower here in California for her, hosted at the Gerdts' house.  It was a gorgeous day and we had a fun weekend all together shopping, eating, and hanging out.

I didn't remember my camera so I got most of these pictures from Meredith.  Thanks!
Great weekend!

Little Moments

Here is my post of random phone and Instagram pictures from the past weeks.
The other Sumans were in town and they took a sibling Cafe Rio bathroom pic.

One evening we decided to just drop everything and head to California Adventure.  The nights were warm and even though we only had a couple of hours we knew the park wouldn't be crowded.  Eric got to ride Radiator Springs for the first time.  Ava and I went on Screamin' two times.  I forgot how much I love roller coasters and the loop.  Eric and Leah waited in line for Toy Story but it broke down right before they got on and then the park closed.  Boo!

Ava got this sweatshirt from the Bates for her birthday.  She wanted to do a little pose and send a picture to Rachael.

School was out last Monday for MLK Day.  The girls had been dying to see Frozen again.  It was about all they could do to not sing throughout the whole movie.  They loved it even more the second time. There was this cute Olaf in the lobby.

Leah started up swimming class again!  She is a Sharkie and doing really well learning how to breathe on her side during the free stroke and starting to learn how to do the backstroke. She has the same teacher as this summer and loves Ms Michelle!

The weather has been so perfect and warm.  We even made a trip to the pool so the girls could swim on Saturday.

I do not know the story behind this picture of Eric.  Such a goofball.

And, another trip to Disneyland.  This time just me and the girls with a goal of meeting Anna and Elsa, characteres from Frozen.  Luckily the park wasn't too crowded and it was finally less than an hour wait!  The girls brought their autograph books and they were so happy they did.  They met a lot of characters this day.  We got to go on some rides too and Ava is pretty funny because always wants to ride alone and 7 seems to be that magical number.  She is trying to grow up too fast.  We also saw the Belle Storytime in the Royal Theater for the first time which was really cute.

The girls love when they find Spike in their beds. On this day I went to change and wash Ava's sheets but couldn't because Mr Spike was all tucked in for a winter's nap. I have no idea how he got all cuddled up in there.

One Saturday night we went to Baja Fish Tacos with the Eisenbises and Meredith. Mere took this Snap Chat picture for Rachael.

Happy 34th Eric!

Happy Birthday to Eric! I love when Eric and I are the same age! It makes me feel a little better about my own #34. Eric had to work on his big day but we all met up for dinner at Avila's El Ranchito Mexican Restaurant. We hadn't been there before and it was a fun experience. It was a super eclectic place and we had fun checking out the decor. The girls loved the lollipops and mermaid glass hangers.  This sign was perfect placement for our birthday celebration!  Thanks for coming everyone and thanks treating us, Rich!

On Sunday we celebrated again with chocolate chip cake and chocolate whipped cream frosting.  The cake was giant and kind of a crumbly mess but it was a yummy mess!  Eric got some nice gifts and cards.  It was a fun night.  Thanks everyone for making it special!

We love you, Eric!  Happy Birthday!
