Mandi's Wedding

Mandi Andre is now Mandi Nelson!  Mandi and Riley got married on February 23rd. She looked so pretty and super happy of course!  It was fun to go to her reception and hang out with family as well as old and new friends.  We thought we would stay for a half hour and we were there until the end.  The girls danced the night away and loved seeing their church teachers and friends at this big party.  They loved it! Cindy and Camille did a cute hot chocolate/dessert bar too.

Congrats Andre family!

100th Day of School

For the 100th day of school on Thursday, the kids all had to decorate paper squares to make a quilt for their classroom.  They brought home numbers, Ava was assigned numbers 1 through 4.  On Friday I snapped a couple of pictures.  It turned out cute!

BFF

Ava got a Best Friend necklace from Shea today.  It was so cute how excited she was to receive it. Ava seems to be growing up by leaps and bounds.  Like Eric said, I hope they don't have a falling out in first grade.  Ha!

Dinner with Jalaine

Jalaine was in town at Disneyland with her fiancĂ©, Loyd. We met up for dinner last night and had a lovely time catching up after almost 15 years of not seeing each other. Jalaine and I were roommates my freshman and sophomore year at BYU! We are getting old. It was great getting to know Loyd.  They seemed perfect for each other. I love seeing old friends passing through.

We had a lot of fun memories, the three of us!

Big Bear Lake

Bryan and Camille invited us to join them in Big Bear Lake at the Eisenbise's family cabin.  The girls have been wanting to see the snow again so we went up on Saturday and spent the night with them.  Meredith was already up there with them and Eric's parents came up and spent the day on Saturday with all of us.  It was a gorgeous weekend with blue skies and 55 degree temps but there was still snow on the ground.  It was perfect for us Californians.  I love that this pretty place is only 2 hours from home.

From the moment we got out of the car the girls were ready to go. They were throwing snowballs and building snowmen. Ava was especially into it. She was the first one out the door and the last one to come inside.

The kids had fun going out on the lake dock.  It was like their little stage out there and we even got to feed the ducks. Eric was brave and felt the water...it was really cold and even frozen along the edges of the lake.

Later in the afternoon we took the kids sledding.  They loved it!  This is their first experience with sledding and they were squealing and smiling the whole time.  We all went down the hill and tried out all different combinations.  The girls were perma smiles.  So cute.

Some sledding videos:

That night we ate in and went into town and it was crazy busy everywhere.  The ski resorts were hopping.  I would love to take the girls for lessons in a couple of years.  Ava was begging to try it this weekend.  The next day we sledded some more and went to Village Pizza then came back to pack up and play for a little bit more before heading home.

After we got home and unpacked I realized I left my camera there at the cabin.  Good thing Meredith and the Eisenbises were still there to bring it home for me.  Thanks!

Thanks for a great weekend, Eisenbises!  They were great hosts and we had so much fun.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!  Last night Eric and I made Valentine's for the girls for their mailboxes and got them bags with little treats inside.  Eric got the girls flowers and me some really cool blooming branches. They were so excited going to bed and they ended up waking up earlier than Christmas morning!  They loved their new little toys and Valentine's.

The girls don't have school today or tomorrow, or Monday! So we seized the moment and headed to Disneyland. We saw on Kam's Instagram that the princes were out with the princesses at Disney World this week. We haven't been during Valentine's week before and haven't met the princes. The girls were freaking out and really wanted that to be the first stop. We got in line and then found out after a half hour of waiting that it was actually a 90 minute wait. WHAT!? But, we were already invested and it's a once a year thing so we stuck it out.

First up was Snow White and The Prince.

Prince Charming chatted with Ava the whole time.  I need to ask her more about that.  The girls were loving watching them interact with each other.  They were so in love.

The Beast was enormous!  Leah was a little scared but she loved Belle.

We also saw the step mother and step sisters from Cinderella!  They were out singing songs and doing it terribly of course.  Oh and the step mother looked younger than the step sisters.

We ended up seeing the Richardsons, Ava's buddy Tessa, while we were waiting for Buzz Lightyear!  So fun to see friends.

We headed over to California Adventure and met up with Pluto and Mickey!  We rode a few rides and Ava loved riding by herself on a couple of rides.  She loved being so independent.

After Disneyland we met the whole family at Souplantation to celebrate Meredith's birthday and Valentine's Day.

It is always fun to be with family and celebrate love and birthdays!  It was a great way to finish off Valentine's Day!
