Ava's preschool class had a Halloween Festival. They played games, got prizes, and sang songs. She had so much fun. Ava and her friend, Molly, were wearing the same shirt. Ava passed out goodie bags to all of her classmates. It was a great day at school.

When we got home Ava tried on the funny glasses her teachers gave her. She looked so silly in them and reminded us of French Neil!

Trick or Treating was a success tonight! The girls had so much fun going house to house. We started the night by going to Gram and Grandpa's house and the Gerdts' house.

Then we headed back to our neighborhood and there were people everywhere. The houses were decked out and it was a lot of fun. We stopped by some of our friends' homes and Leah was so excited to go to her teacher's house. Here they are with the Kleins.

Ava was very skeptical about some of the spooky houses and rightfully so because some of the homes were scary and had people jumping out. One of the homes on the Owens/Carron's street was a full on haunted house. We still can hear screams outside. Eric went through and right before he came out a little boy came out bawling. So sad. Sounded pretty frightening.

When we got home we, like every person, dumped out the candy then divide and conquer.

We all ate too much candy tonight. The girls were hyped up and going crazy around the house. They were laughing and falling and eating chips and just being silly.

We were happy when we finally calmed them down and got them into bed. It was a fun, fun night with our little girls. Happy Halloween!

Trunk or Treat

Friday was our Ward's Trunk or Treat. For Halloween this year, Leah is Minnie Mouse. She is so excited about it and will tell everyone about it.

Here she is saying "Oh Toodles!"

Ava is Lemon Meringue, one of Strawberry Shortcake's friends. I asked her to give me a nice smile and then she can chose a pose that she wants for the picture.

Look at the attitude here.

And one together, of course.

The girls had so much fun running around with their friends from church and going from car to car getting candy. We didn't really get any pictures but Isabell sent this one to me of Ingrid and Ava together.

After we went around to all of the cars we headed over to the Altisima building to meet up with the Eisenbises and Pesters. Anna and Leah were excited to see each other as Minnie Mouse.

Ava was a little terrified of Jeremy. Camille did a really great job on his makeup.

The to love Hayden and Nolan as Beavis and Butthead.

We went to get frozen yogurt afterward. Always a fun, fun night with friends!

Nap Time

Leah was napping today and I had to wake her up to pick up Ava. Usually when I do this she wakes up right away when I walk in but today she was sleeping peacefully with her little arm around Ariel and under the covers she was still sucking her thumb. I love that she always has to have her three blankets plus the baby blanket for whoever is sleeping with her. I am really going to miss nap time for this little girl. She is growing up too fast.

Pumpkin Carving

Yesterday we had the cute Activity Day girls over for pumpkin carving. I forgot to get my camera out while they were here but they were having fun cleaning the pumpkin guts out and were getting creative with their designs. Afterward Eric helped Ava carve a kitty into a pumpkin which turned out to be a cute little design. I think there was some pumpkin guts on the camera lens...oops. Still had to include the pictures though!

We've been decorating for Halloween. Holidays are so much more fun with kids!

Bats made their come back (tutorial by Dana)

Trash bag spider webs were made on a whim one night at 10pm and the spider craft was made at Ava's Animal Adventure class.

Outside of the house:

Plus, we have our own black cat...that is impossible to get a good photo of.

We hosted Sunday dinner at our house and forgot to take pictures but we had 3 yummy soups and cornbread. It's become a fun tradition to have everyone over for Halloween dinner!

Addison is 5

Addie turned 5 and invited us to her Chuck-E-Cheese birthday party. Ava and Leah have been talking about it for weeks and were so excited to go back to see Chuck-E. Pete and Heather are so nice and I'm glad that Eric got to come meet them too, but it was sad to find out that they are moving to Northern California. We are excited for their new job there, though.

Leah loved the little mini carousel and went on it probably 5 times and then hitched a ride with other kids another 5 times. Ava liked the roller coaster simulator (I'm not sure the girl next to her did though).

Eric enjoyed air hockey and skeeball. He won a lot of tickets for the girls.

We took these funny pictures on the ride. We didn't know when the camera was going to take the picture so I am sure we looked ridiculous posing for so long.

Addison and Ava (and Leah and Josie) have become such good buddies from gymnastics. We'll miss them.

Thanks for a fun party! Happy Birthday Addie!
