Free Pretend City

Yesterday was a free day at Pretend City since they were celebrating their 2nd Birthday. Some friends were going right when they opened. We wanted to join them but when we got there it was insane! There was no parking, even on the streets. The line was wrapped all the way around the building. No thanks. So we left and when Leah woke up from her nap we decided to give it another try. There was no line but there were still a ton of people inside and we had to park a block and a half away but we made it in - for free. We spent an hour there playing pretend and dressing up. The stage was a huge hit. Leah was carefree, dancing around and singing her heart out.

Ava took her performance very seriously. She remained backstage until it was her turn and she wasn't interested in my paparazzi attempts.

They also love the farm there.
Just like at home, they helped rake, pick the vegetables and make the food.

Hopefully we get to go again soon!

Farmer Eric

Eric made more planters today and is preparing the soil for a winter garden. It's the hottest day of the year but he is out there working away. Today we all appreciate the air conditioned house.

Gymnastic Grad!

Leah graduated from the Tutsi Roll class (mom and me) to Tumblebees (on her own) today! She and Josie graduated together and will be moving up to the next level and so far they are the only two in their class. They will love it. They were presented with a ribbon and a balloon. They were so proud! Miss Cayla has been a great coach and I am sure Leah will miss her. I am so excited that they opened this new class for our girls so they can be in class at the same time as their older sisters. I am also so glad that Leah is going to be doing it on her own. What a big girl!

Playing Sisters

Ava and Leah have really started playing well together. It is so cute to see them making believe and dressing up. We went to play at McDonalds this week and the girls made friends and were all playing together. Up and down the play structure and slide. Leah was even the leader sometimes. I love seeing these girls becoming such good friends!

Back to Disneyland

Disneyland is back on the agenda now that our passes are good again. I decided to surprise the girls by taking them today. It's funny because they weren't expecting it at all since they thought we were just going out to do errands. Ava wasn't paying attention when we were driving because she was playing with the iPod. When we got to the parking structure, Ava started noticing things but still didn't catch on. She kept saying, "Mom, this place is like Disneyland with the gate. It even says Disneyland on that sign right there. Disneyland isn't open yet though, right mom? Mom, look at those buildings, it looks like Disneyland..." I said, "Do you think we should get out the double stroller and go see what else looks like Disneyland?" Her eyes got huge and I finally let her in on the secret that this was Disneyland and her and Leah both started screaming. They were so excited. Such a fun mom moment. I'm glad that I brought the iPod as distraction because she didn't suspect anything. Of course it was crowded but we just did a few things and had a fun time.

Ava was missing the princesses so we waiting to see them.
The line was surprisingly not too horrible so we braved it.

Afterward we watched the Princess Fantasy Faire and the girls loved it. They learned a dance and watched the show and they even got to meet more princesses. Fun, fun day. I love having these two cute little girlie girls. In the video Leah turned around to find me and waved. Such sweet chicas, they definitely had a great day.

Strands

Today was our ward's beach party at Strands in Dana Point. We ended up getting there pretty late after searching for hot dog sticks that we didn't use, but the beach was beautiful and so was the sunset. It was fun to talk with the Pothiers and Didlakes.

This was our first time to this beach, it was gorgeous and had it's own mini tram/elevator going up and down. Pretty sweet. It's called a funicular and I haven't seen something like that at a beach before and it definitely was an added bonus for the girls who can't quit talking about the train from last weekend.

Finally, the Balloon!

This was our forth attempt to get onto the big orange balloon and we this time we made it on! The OC Great Park is always fun with the carousel.

We rode the carousel five times while we waited. The girls switched to different animals each time.

The girls climbed on the rocks and the clever bike rack.

And finally, it was our turn.

We went 400 ft up in the giant helium balloon.

Pretty views and a fun time. We'll be back again.

Dentist

Ava had her first dentist visit. No cavities! She was so patient and brave. Her teeth looked great after the polishing too. We learned that she has 20 teeth and that the bottom middle teeth will probably be the first she loses. Her top teeth are nice and close together which looks great but means that she might have some crowding once her bigger adult teeth start growing in and she has a cross bite. All might correct itself but it looks like braces will be in her future.

After she did so good at her appointment we picked up Leah and Gram and went to Golden Spoon for a fun, special treat!
