When the weather is nice, the girls like to have picnics in the middle of the back yard. Sometimes we have food and sometimes we just lounge around. The other day we had Ariel and Flutter Fairy over for a snack picnic.

Ava loved having Chloe over for a play date!

Julianna Barwick

On Tuesday night Eric and I went on a date. We went to the Bootleg Theater in LA to see Julianna Barwick perform. Eric has been into her music for a while and was stoked to see that she was coming back to LA. She uses just her voice and a few loop and effect pedals to create intricate choral music. It was really interesting and impressive that she does it all herself and she was really in tune the entire time. The music was really pretty.

Here is small snippet of a video:

Trying to get a shot of ourselves.

I liked the Cocktails sign.

Afterward we saw the huge moon and ate some donuts from a sketchy Winchells.

It was fun to be out on the town as a couple and to see some live music. Reminds me of the olden days. Thanks to Mere for hanging out at our house while the kiddos slept.

Girls Night Out

A few weeks ago, while everyone was in town for Spring Break, we had Girls Night Out. It was so great to be able to go out as adults and actually talk to one another without little kids interrupting. I'm so happy for great friends/family! We asked the crazy server to take a picture and decided to only use one for the picture - from Kam's blog, Karen's camera. Thanks for a fun night even though we didn't get to hear Meredith and Camille sing karaoke!

Tootsie Rolls

While Ava is at her gymnastics class the moms with toddlers were going crazy trying to entertain our almost two year olds. So, we convinced the instructors to open a class during Ava's class. Now we get to use half of the time chasing the kids around in class with an instructor instead of in the hallways. Today was the first official class. They loved it and were so excited to have a class for themselves.

St. Patrick's Day

Ava had a great day at school yesterday celebrating with her friends, she wore green so she didn't get pinched. After school we met up with all of the cousins for lunch. Kam and Karis are in town now so we had 11 kids partying together at Del Taco.

Afterward we went down to the OC Great Park.

Later that night we celebrated Carter and Savanna's birthdays.

They treated to Chuck E Cheese. Ava was so thrilled to go there, it was her first time. All of the kids had so much fun!

Run, Run, Run

Rachael and her kids have been in town this week. And, run, run, run sums up what the kids have been up to. We've been on the go and having a lot of fun all playing together....and some fighting too, but these cousins really love each other. I am so happy that even though they live elsewhere they are still able to grow up together thanks to lots of visits.

Here they are playing tag in the back yard at Gram's house. Even the little ones got in on it.

Yesterday we went to Huntington Beach. We left RSM with sunny skies and warm temps but once we got down to the ocean, the clouds were low and thick and it was so chilly. We couldn't even see the Pier from 9th Street. But, the kids didn't seem to notice and still played in the water and of course, ran all around us.

After the beach we stopped by the Holmes house to visit Kayla and their brand new three week old baby, Miles. He was so sweet and loved catching up with the whole family. The kids ran around outside and in Rachael's car while we took turns going in to visit. Can't believe I didn't grab the camera. Bummer. We miss our HB friends!

Today we went to California Adventure. It was crowded and the lines were long. We didn't last as long as we thought but got to go on a few rides. It was fun to see the older kids getting older and riding "alone" together.

We love seeing happy faces!
