Back to Disneyland

Our passes are good again and I surprised the girls by taking them there the other morning. It was fun to get there early and beat the crowds and the heat. We hit up the Princesses first thing and the wait wasn't too long. The girls loved it. Leah was a bit shy and not knowing what to do exactly but, I was actually impressed with the Princesses at how well they interactied with her, it was really cute.

After going on the Jungle Cruise we saw that Jasmine and Aladdin were out. This is the first time Ava has actually waited to see them. She was always timid of Aladdin but this time he got a big hug.

A few other pictures from the morning.

Little Leah turned 14 months today!

Always fun at Disneyland! We're happy to be back.

Summer Heat

So after a pretty cool summer we have finally hit the heat wave. I took the girls to play in the splash pad at the Spectrum yesterday and they had so much fun in the water. I snapped some pictures of them in their element.

Knowles in California

On Saturday night we went to Robbie Knowles' wedding reception at their home in Fountain Valley. It is fun to see the little brothers and sisters of our friends getting married. Robbie and Amanda looked really happy and made such a good looking couple.

Ava and Lilly were reunited and they were so happy to see each other. They danced the night away, even slow dancing together. Cute little friends.

Leah met a little boy her age and they chased each other around all night.

It was so much fun to hang out with old friends and eat good food. We hung out with the Knowles on Thursday at Cafe Rio and then Friday night Eric and Michael went to Robbie's bachelor party. I am so glad we got to spend time with them even though they were only here for a short time. We miss having Jason and Wynnter around, hopefully we'll get to visit them in Texas.

Celebrating Bill

On Sunday we celebrated Bill's 64th birthday! It was complete with a group karaoke rendition of The Beatles song When I'm Sixty-Four. Cindy made yummy pot roast and a chocolate lava cake for dessert, it was like my birthday again! Ava passed out headbands for everyone to wear and Grandpa ended up with a purple one with a bow. What a nice Grandpa! We always have fun celebrating birthdays together.

Happy Birthday, Bill!

Leah conquered going up the stairs about 5 minutes after she started crawling. I was nervous about her falling down the stairs but she never even attempted them, not even once. So now that it's months later and she is walking and running everywhere I decided it was time that she learned to come down the stairs. It only took one time of me showing her last week how to turn around and scoot down the stairs for her to get it. She has now mastered coming down the stairs! It's so much easier then her crawling up and then waiting for me to carry her down whining at the top. Leah is becoming an independent woman and we're so proud!

Silverado Cafe

We went with the Eisenbises to Silverado Cafe on Saturday night. It was fun to be out in the canyon and the restaurant had a lot of charm. We all about died when three cowboys walked in. They even had spurs on their boots. The food was delicious and it made for a fun outing.

OC Fair 2010

Tonight we went to the Orange County Fair. We love going every year on one of the fundraiser nights. When we got in we stopped by the farm animals. Ava had no fear but poor little Leah was clinging to my legs.

When we got out of the petting area and saw the animals that were in their cages, Leah got a little more comfortable.

There was a little kid area and Leah loved coloring at the little table and Ava loved playing in the pools of grain.

We checked out all of the prize winning vegetables and fruits.

We watched some amazing acrobats.

Ava went on a few carnival rides and loved them and wanted to go on everything. She looked so big going on all by herself.

At the end of the night we attempted a self family portrait.

It's always fun at the fair!
