I grew up not having sisters (besides my Michelle), but since my brothers got married and I married Eric, I now have seven sisters-in-law. How fun is that? This past week five of us got together and had so much fun hanging out everyday and letting our kids play together. It was fun to have Sara and Makenna here from Utah.

Besides eating out we went to the Santa Ana Zoo, the Irvine Spectrum and the Shark Lagoon at the Aquarium in Long Beach. Here is the photo montage.

At the zoo, we saw a ton of monkeys. Ava liked petting the goat the best. The kids had the most fun on the playground, going down the slides and playing in the sand.

At the Spectrum, Lucy and Jeremy couldn't get enough of the splash pad. Ava liked the water but really liked running away into the nearby stores. It's chillier than it looks in the pictures so the kids were happy to get into their dry clothes again - except for Lucy, she decided to run back in the water again.

Friday nights are free at the Aquarium of the Pacific for the outdoor Shark Lagoon exhibit. We went over to Camille's friend Heather's house before heading up there to have dinner and hang out...we had yummy stuff from Stonefire Grill. We ended up not getting to the Aquarium until after 8pm but an hour was enough time. The kids got to touch little sharks and sting ray. There was a big tank with large sharks to look at. Ava loved splashing in the touch tank and she was mesmerized by the big sharks. She watched them swim around and kept saying "whoa" and her version of "shark." We are definitely down for going back again sometime.

Piano Performance

Ava is really into sitting on the piano bench and having a book open as she pounds the piano keys. This is for the grandparents out there.

Easter Weekend

Ava and I had so much fun in Arizona this weekend. A huge thanks to the Sumans for driving us down and to the Bates for hosting us. What we don't have pictures of is going to the Easter Pageant at the Mesa Temple, going to Cafe Rio (twice!) and YCs, and Ava got stung by a bee! Ah! She is ok though and I hope this tells us that she is not allergic to them like I am.

We went swimming at Brennan's parents hotel in the lazy river.
Carter and Ava loved the splash pad.

Carter and Ava seriously had so much fun playing together.
I don't know who loved who more.

Ava in her Easter dress, eating a rock.

Savanna turned one on Easter! She is getting so old.
The Bates threw a big party and dinner. We had so much fun and great food.
Loved the pinata and bounce house!

All of the Cindy's siblings were in town taking care of Granner's house so we stopped by and played for a while. We took so pictures for memory sake.

We came home to a package from Grandma and Papa Novak for Ava and she, of course, loved her new bunny.

Easter Bunny

Ava and I went to visit the Easter Bunny at Fashion Island earlier this week. She loved the little pathway and all the flowers but unfortunately she did not like the Easter Bunny. I shouldn't have been surprised since she had the same reaction to Santa Claus.

Since Ava and I are heading to AZ for Easter weekend the Bunny decided to deliver Ava's basket early. I'll post again when we get back.

Park Days

We look forward to going to the park each week with some of the friends in the ward. Ava has fun playing and I have fun chatting with the other moms. Here is the group from this week (Kayla and I are the photographers). Such cute little kids.

Twice the Fun!

We went back to Disneyland today. Seriously, it is so much fun. I am so worn out though - twice the fun is twice the work. We spent 7 hours there today. More cousins came into town so we had fun with Aunt Karen, the Smiths, Millers, Dana and kids and Camille and Jeremy. Ava and I went on the Jungle Cruise, Buzz Lightyear and Finding Nemo the submarine ride. In between rides Ava played with Lucy in the water in Bug's Land, went to Toon Town, took a nap, meanwhile I took the tour of the tortilla factory and bakery for the free samples of course. We can't wait to go again! Here are some more photos.

Happy Ava in the water area. She is so into being a "big" girl and running around. It's so hard to get her back in the stroller after being out for a while...especially when she is tired. She wasn't really into getting wet today but she was excited about running around getting into everyone else's stuff. Why does she love snooping in bags and strollers so much? Oh and yeah, she is wearing flip flops! Haha. They have a back strap but regardless, she definitely needs some practice in them.

Buzz Lightyear.
Terrible score but I have to be tending to Ava rather than playing the game so please don't judge.

Everyone was "Finding Nemo".

Gerrit and Chloe...Jungle cruising.

Braedon, Kate and Jeremy.

Today was a really fun day. We spent the day up in Rancho with the little cousins.

Then, Dana, Camille and I went to Disneyland with our kids for the evening. It was nice that they all generally like the same rides and they play well together. I am excited to learn more about Disneyland. We might even go again tomorrow!
